Eco Dyed Designer Fiber
Naturally dyed, one-of-kind art fabrics. The fabric is unfinished, 15” x 40” recycled cotton. This fabric was dyed with sage first, so the images have a soft green hue background. Perfect for designer accent pillows, table runners, quilting, wall hangings or beautifully framed unique prints that enhance your home with the natural warmth of nature. Made by hand from dye produced naturally in Montana’s leaves, flowers, and seeds.
The principle of eco printing is that various leaves and plant material possess tannins which have the ability to print permanent color onto fibers when combined with the proper procedure. Not every leaf works well, as some have much higher tannin content than others. Results may vary with water content, location and even the time of year with this invisible chemistry. Eco printing is an interesting art utilizing dyes that occur naturally in nature.
