I cannot remember wanting to be anything but an artist from an early age. Raised in Montana’s Flathead Valley, my family valued independence and creativity, both huge influences on my life. We ran a bit wild and explored any idea that a childs’ mind marvels at. Today, I treasure those experiences and allow myself the freedom to explore art in many different forms.

My studio is located in Huntley, Montana, a small farming community, 10 miles east of Billings. We live in a 107 year old historical home my husband, Greg and I restored on 13 acres. We have planted over 30 trees of all varieties and brought life back to a land that was used and abused for years. The trees are now teaming with birds, the bees help to provide us with fruit, flowers & vegetables. There is a kind of peace to this beautiful property, so hard to find these days.

Trained in graphic design & watercolor, today I work with local wool, spinning, weaving & natural dye techniques, nontoxic intaglio etching with solar plates, block prints and even recycled metal sculpture. I like to believe that the diversity of these art interests help me to continue to grow and adjust perspectives that narrow with time.

This season I am exploring drawing directly with dyes using African mud cloth as my canvas. The overlay of techniques builds impressions that often are very interesting. Each year is different, I strive to discover new possibilities to create unique works of art .
