Montana Black Walnuts with Hulls

I had the good fortune this year to receive a fresh new crop of Montana Black Walnuts with their hulls to do some dying. Black Walnut trees are very slow growing and a treasure to find these days. These nuts with the hull were as big as baseballs and so easily prepared to begin making dye by just pulling off the skins and putting them in water.

Unfortunately I didn’t get much dyed yet, more to come…….
